We are thrilled to see the growth that Dore has made to become now the John Crosland School. They will be able to more than double their capacity serving special needs children of the Charlotte area. The atmosphere at John Crosland is simply remarkable. Every child just seems so glad to be there and all the teachers just love what they do.

Josh, Neil and I had a great experience spending time with the community of Huntington Green during this project. It was sort of like an emotional roller coaster for me, and I was honored to have been asked to approach such a delicate topic in my own area where I live. Not only were the people’s stories very moving and touching, but watching it over and over as we edit, those stories just get hammered more and more into your heart. We were moved by the sense of togetherness this community has, and we very much look forward to seeing how people will pitch in to build more bridges into the community in a sensitive fashion the way Dave and Maria have done. We are looking forward to the relationships we have built with the people wanting to stand with Huntington Green to help them have a brighter and more hopeful future.

This post is dedicated to Sean Murphy who is simply put, one brave and joyous soul. Friends, family and fellow sailors of Sean Murphy put on a fantastic Wake before the Wake party for Sean on 8.25.2012 at Lake Norman Yacht Club where hundreds came to celebrate Sean’s life with him. I have never seen someone get roasted for hours and it was a delight for everyone there. Sean smiled the whole night and brightened up the whole party.
Sean is an active member of Lake Norman Yacht Club and a fierce competitor in the Thistle Class. Sean is an active member of CHOA and a native of West Milford, New Jersey. Sean is one of 9 boys he also has two sisters. The brothers and sisters had fantastic stories to share as Sean sat on his throne being entertained by his subjects.
I am doing this post for friends and family that were not able to come. Thanks for all that came out to support Sean before he goes home to be with his family in New Jersey. A huge thanks to all of you who put on the party, you know who you all are. I know it was a ton of work. What a gift to give someone.

Josh and Kirsten have been a fantastic couple to work with and we were thrilled to document their wedding in Boone which so happens to be my favorite place. Turns out we had lots of mutual friends and close acquaintances and it was a pleasure to spend the day surrounded by people that loved Josh and Kirsten. Their wedding was at Laurel Forks Baptist Church in Boone, NC and the reception at The Inn at Crestwood Resort and Spa in Blowing Rock NC.
A Big thanks to Josh Stilwell for the assist and lead editor as well as Neil Cowley. Some of the footage from their pre-wedding shoot was by Doug Kaufman of Boone NC.
